1Timothy 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; 4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
It’s amazing how Scripture exposes sin, lies, corruption, deceit, false doctrine, and false teachers. It’s incredible how these verses expose most of the television preachers we see on television. I really wouldn’t want to be in these guy’s shoes when they face God for all the people that they have deceived out of their money and how they twisted Scripture in order to make a name and fortune for themselves.
Don’t be deceived by their lies, READ YOUR BIBLES for yourselves! Don’t let them deceive you into thinking you are “Little Gods” that is a lie straight from the pits of Hell. It was also the lie that deceived Eve into taking that first bite of the forbidden fruit. These guys want your money, they want your commitment, they want you to increase their wealth, they want you to blindly follow them. They want you to believe that wealth is a sign of Spirituality. The more spiritual you are, the wealthier you will be. You can claim your wealth and speak it into existence, because you are a child of God, which makes you a little god. They want you to believe that if you are a god, then like the true God, you too can speak things into existence. LIES! FALSE DOCTRINE! HERESY! There is NOTHING in the Bible to support these claims. But these guys will say that it came to them by “divine revelation”. These guys are adding to the Bible things that just aren’t there.
What does the Bible say about these guys? They are destitute of the truth, they suppose that gain is godliness. Is the Bible true? Is the teaching of the Bible to be believed? If it is true, and I believe that it is, then we are to withdraw ourselves from these people and expose them for the false teachers that they are.
Ephesians 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove(rebuke) them.
DON’T READ INTO THE BIBLE ANYTHING THAT ISN’T THERE! I have always hated lies and deception. But I especially get fired up when I see so many thousands being led astray by the false teaching of television preachers. They use and twist the teachings of the Bible in order to make themselves rich and they do it all in the name of Christianity. The Bible says that it is a shame to even speak about those things that are done by these guys behind closed doors.
Ephesians 5:12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. Pray that God will give you the light to see through the darkness and that the truth will be revealed. Ephesians 5:13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
I’ve said it so many times but I feel that I still need to say it, Please be careful who you listen to on the radio and watch on television. 99.9% of these people are false prophets that want to make merchandise of you, take your money to feed their own greed. They use and twist the Bible for their own gain and they lead so many into a false conversion or understanding of the Bible and the way of salvation. Don’t take my word for it. Listen to what they are saying and look at their lifestyles and then read and compare what they are saying to Scripture.
When you give your money to them you are supporting their lavish lifestyle that rivals many in Hollywood and many times they aren’t even accountable to anyone. Peter warns us of these people in 2 Peter.
Look at what he has to say about them. 2Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. Don’t let them make merchandise of you. Don’t let them into your homes and confuse you about what the Bible teaches.
2Peter 2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. They are preaching another Gospel, a gospel of prosperity instead of repentance, of glory in your own power(you are “little gods”), instead of humble submission to the power of God, of your ability to “get” what you want from God instead of God using you to reach the lost. It’s all about “greed” and “self” and nothing about others. It is completely contrary to the teaching of the Bible. Look at the following verses:
Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
1John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
There are so many more Scriptures that can be used. The Bible warns us over and over again to watch out for false teachers. It’s not being judgmental, it’s being discerning and Biblical.
It amazes me that people are so willing to be led astray. The whole Word of Faith movement is a lie straight from the pits of Hell. I really feel sorry for those that are willing to be led astray by it. I can’t imagine the level of torment these false teachers are going to experience in Hell because of their leading so many into such false teaching.
